About

Kenli makes complicated questions simple.

He makes big questions digestible by combing his background in data with years of on-the-ground experience supporting mission-driven leaders. He believes that centering people’s experiences, especially marginalized groups, is the only way to create long-lasting impact.

Helping people achieve their goals brings him joy and he looks forward to getting to know you and the vision that motivates you every day.

Experience

Kenli has been leading school data work for 14 years, starting on the ground at E.L. Haynes Public Charter school and then serving schools across the District of Columbia as Managing Director at EmpowerK12.  At E.L. Haynes, Kenli not only led data but also gained deep practical knowledge about running a school through work in operations, accountability, board relations, high school on track, SEL curriculum development, and more. At EmpowerK12, he grew and trained a team that has built data pipelines, warehouses, and dashboards for nearly 40 LEAs.  In addition to leading the development of the organization’s foundational technology, he supported leaders across the city to understand their progress and turn their data into impact.

He started his career as a Peace Corps Volunteer. He taught math and physics in Kenya where he saw how hard the students worked only to face a lack of opportunity to attend college and find jobs. He is passionate about ensuring all people have equal access to opportunity.
